I was 11 years old when my friends and I sneaked into the theater to see this. This had us all laughing so hard we were crying.

Sult (1966) … Cinema can’t get any better than this. If Liv Ullmen’s performance in Bergman’s ‘Face to Face’ is best acting performance by an actress IMO, then Per Oscarsson’s performance in this film is probably the BEST acting perfoamce by an actor in the history of cinema. Pure Nirvana!
It is based upon the novel ‘Hunger’ by Norwegian author Knut Hamsun. Very Bergmanesque movie, brilliant study of an artist’s pride/ego, dying for a meal but too proud & pretentious to accept it via charity or dishonesty. Visually, this movie is breathtaking, those beautiful shots are going to stay with me forever, excellent black and white photography, brilliant camera work, remarkable acting. What a movie! WATCH IT …
This is also a major theme in the Bhagavad Gita, that is, relinquishing the fruit of your labor. Do things for the satisfaction of the doing, not the result. Doing this, even occasionally, completely changes your life.

Walk on the Moon (Arthur Russell) - Labyrinth Ear
Every step is moving me up.
I’ve become re-addicted to this song. That thing happened where your iPod is on shuffle and it shuffles to a song that you forgot you had, yet immediately remember how amazing it is and why you were obsessed with it months ago.
Wow, I’ve never heard this version. Thanks! It’s great!
